Over twenty-five years ago, two very brave ladies took a stand for the unborn. Each one began a crisis pregnancy center Palm Beach County; TLC Clinic in south county and Alpha Care in north county.

TLC’s Carole Walters was challenged to take action after watching Francis Schaeffer’s compelling video, “How Should We Then Live.” Roe v. Wade had made abortion legal throughout the 50 states in 1973. By 1983, we were seeing thousands of children destroyed by abortion.

Alpha Care’s Pat Harrison believed with all her heart that she would not have made the devastating decision to have an abortion as a teenager if there had been somewhere she could find someone who would support a choice for life.

God used both of these women to set the course in our community for First Care to save thousands of babies from abortion!

Then in 1995, TLC Clinic and Alpha Care merged and First Care Family Resources (FCFR) was born! We currently have five pregnancy centers throughout the county, providing alternatives to abortion. An abstinence education program and an abortion recovery program increase the scope of resources First Care provides to the community.
